See the world....beyond the ordinary..... 2009/ travel thoughts from
Travel With Lee
January through April:
In the Caribbean, both cruises and resorts, and in the resorts of Mexico there are now great bargains that should continue through the Spring.
Hawaii is also offering tempting specials. There may be no more diverse destination on the planet than Hawaii. Not only is the terrain amazingly varied – deserts, beaches and lush rainforests, mountains and oceans, deep valleys and soaring volcanoes - but the climates there range from sub-arctic to tropical.
The traditional crunch travel time around Easter and Spring break may not be as crowded in 2009.
May through August:
All the cruise lines and river cruise lines are offering specials in order to fill their ships on European itineraries. Prices are locked in once final payment is made.
The dollar should remain relatively strong so this Summer might be a good time to visit Europe. Many tour operators are holding 2009 prices at 2008 prices. Tauck Tours is offering unprecedented value on its popular Yellow Roads land tours.
Consider Summer and Fall in Switzerland: an easy country to tour, excellent spas and resorts, great scenery. Combine your Switzerland vacation with northern Italy!
Travel With Lee can make arrangements to fit any budget.
September and October:
This time of the year is always good for touring in any location, except perhaps the Caribbean where hurricanes are still possible at that time.
The Orient continues to be a relatively good bargain destination and Fall is an excellent time to visit. Superb beaches, resorts, spas, scenery.
If you have in years past enjoyed more than one vacation a year, perhaps 2009 will be the year of planning and enjoying one special vacation. The joy of travel begins with planning, continues through the end of the vacation, and lasts for years of memories. The less time you spend watching CNN and listening to the news the better your mental health.
